Oxford University Open Days

Our 2020 Open Days will be taking place on 1 and 2 July and 18 September. Please encourage your students to explore our University, meet current students and staff and find out what it’s like to study with us. In addition to taking part in these University-wide Open Days, some academic departments hold their own open days earlier in the year. These are ideal for students who already know what courses they are interested in, and would like to find out more.

International Tennis Hall of Fame.  Division 3 Athletics – can play but won’t get scholarship.

Guest speakers e.g. Dalai Lama.

College Fair – International School, La Chataigneraie

Several Florimont students andtheir parents visited the annual College Fair last night.  Lots of useful conversations about SATs, studying in Canada (much cheaper if you have French nationality in French-speaking Canada – Montréal, Québec).

Remember, the point of a liberal arts education is to educate the mind and heart – not lead directly to a profession.  So if you plan to study Medicine or Law, you do not need to take these subjects as an undergraduate in the US – such vocational education is mainly reserved for Graduate School.

New College of the Humanities – London, UK – Visit to Florimont

Dear All

Please come to Etude Nord at 1240, Monday 7th October, to hear about this new university in London, set up due to the number of people being turned away from Oxford and Cambridge.
Such leading academics as Richard Dawkins and Steve Pinker are supporting British philosopher A C Grayling’s attempt to provide more Oxbridge-level elite educational options in the UK, so that students don’t have to go to the US due to the lack of places in the UK.
Bring your tray with your lunch and listen to find out if it could be the right place for you!
